The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates commended Slovenia's decision to recognize the independent State of Palestine, considering it a significant step towards implementing the two-state solution.

In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry added that the decision "is consistent with international law and international legitimate resolutions that emphasize the necessity of ending the occupation and implementing the two-state solution, which embodies the independent and sovereign State of Palestine along the lines of June 4, 1967, with its capital in occupied Jerusalem."

It also emphasized the importance of the international community taking urgent steps to recognize the State of Palestine, ensuring a return to a path that achieves just and comprehensive peace, preserves the rights of the Palestinian people, and achieves security, stability, and peace in the region.

The ministry's spokesman, Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah, reiterated Jordan's support for the Palestinians and their right to embody their independent sovereign state.

He renewed his call to the international community as a whole, especially the Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities and impose a decision recognizing the independent State of Palestine in accordance with the rules of international law and relevant legitimate international resolutions.
